Mission Statement
The Friends of Lakes Regional Library is a non-profit corporation established in 1990. Our mission is to support and raise funds for the benefit of Lakes Regional Library and/or Lee County Library System.
We support a wide variety of requests, which supplement the Lakes budget such as:
1. Sponsoring and supporting the many adult, teen and youth programs
2. Subscribing to the Book Page, a monthly periodical with book reviews and author interviews that is distributed for free at the Information Desk
3. Purchasing needed equipment and furnishings to enhance the services provided by the Library
4. Maintaining the plants in the children’s story garden
Supplementing the periodical budget
5. We also support the Southwest Florida Reading Festival,an annual event, free and open to the public
